Caution, vulnerable to leaf damage
Glossy thick leaves that are held up by red stems, this is the Alocasia Yucatan Princess. She originates from the tropical rainforest in Southeast asia. Due to her big pointed leaves, she is sometimes compared to the ears of an elephant. In the wild these leaves can become absolutely enormous! This benefits the animals that leave nearby, since they use her as a hiding place. Unfortunately, this does not mean that she is safe to have around our animals. She is poisonous to ingest, so always be careful with pets and (small) children.
This princess is not the easiest to care for. She can even ‘cry’ from overwatering. Little droplets will appear on her leaves and this is a sign from overwatering. This is called ‘guttation’. She prefers to have small splashes of water multiple times a week. She likes to stay moist but doesn’t like to have wet feet. She will really appreciate a nice spot with bright indirect light and humidity of 60% or higher.
Your order will be hand picked and packed in our strong and sustainable packaging as soon as possible, after which it will be delivered straight from our greenhouse to your door by your chosen carrier. You can follow the journey of your plants via the tracking link you receive in your mail. If you have any questions regarding your order and its shipment, you can get in contact with our support team.
We expect every order to arrive in tip-top shape. We take intensive care of the plants in our greenhouse and use special and as sustainable as possible protective packaging to ship our plants. We also wrote an extensive blog about how to unpack and prepare your plants for growth after shipping. However there are rare occasions where our plants don’t meet their full potential. That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
