The baby Alocasia Yucatan Princess is as royal as her name suggests. As she grows taller she demands respect with her impressive leaves, which in natural settings become so large they’re said to resemble an elephant's ear. For many animals in the Southeast Asian rainforest the leaves, which can reach a metre wide, offer a safe hiding place. It will perhaps not grow that big in your house, but with a little love and care it will certainly grow into a real eye-catcher!
The baby Alocasia Yucatan Princess likes damp soil but prefers to avoid getting too wet, so while she appreciates a little water given often, take sure that the soil does not get too wet as her roots may rot. When brown edges appear on her leaves it’s time to repot her. This little baby likes a bright spot but not direct sunshine. And please beware- if you water her too much she will produce small drops of moisture from her leaves which can stain wooden floors or tables.

December 30, 2022My plant was perfect, nearly exactly as advertised! Mine had 2 nice undamaged leaves & a healthy new leaf coming in. Do be aware that this alocasia has pretty thin leaves & I’d advise against buying this during the winter months. Perfect!

November 14, 2021I think this plant was started in a "seed starting cup". It's such a dense carton-type material and hard to remove, tried to save as much of the roots that grew through it but it was hard work! The plant seems to be ok though, the leaves it came with are lovely, the one new leaf that unfulred since I got the plant is small, wonky and faces away from the light (very mild indirect light !) But I look forward to the plant recovering and doing better, it is such a cute little thing and I'm in love with it.

February 01, 2021I was SO looking forward to getting this plant. It had three leaves in total when it arrived - One good, one dying, and one yellowing. I only have one healthy leaf left now. I'm going to be really disappointed if the last living leaf will not survive.
