Types of medium houseplants

There are many different types of medium plants for indoors. Both shade and sun plants. Our assortment consists of many great plants that are perfect for any space. Whether you are looking for a medium houseplant for the living room or for your home office. However, it is a good idea to determine in advance how much light will enter the room. This way, you can choose the perfect plant for the light conditions!

Medium plants for a light spot

Although people seek out the sun all year round, plants are often not such big fans of the sun. Do you have a light house, with large windows and lots of sun? Then we recommend that you choose a plant that thrives in a light place, because fortunately there are plants that love the sun as much as we do! These are mainly tropical plants. They are used to a bit of sun. Philodendron Birkin and Syngonium Red Arrow are just such plants! They like nice bright spaces, but be careful with direct sunlight. The leaves do not like that very much!

Medium plants for a semi-shade location

By far the majority of houseplants like a semi-shaded location. Semi-shade means that the plant can stand in full sunlight for around four hours a day, but outside of that it prefers (light) shade. The Alocasia Frydek, Monstera Adansonii and the Schefflera Charlotte are fine houseplants for a half-shadowed spot. The last one is the perfect filler for a bare wall, because its characteristic, elongated leaves instantly create a bushy experience in the house. She has few demands and feels at home very quickly. Nice and easy, right?

Medium plants for a shady spot

Do you have a reasonably large corner of your house that doesn't get much light, but which is in need of a fresh and green colour? Then choose a medium houseplant that likes shade, such as the Ctenanthe Amagris and the Calathea White Fusion. Although both originate from the tropical forests of Central and South America, they are used to standing in the shade of larger plants. So these are real beauties that will brighten up any dark corner with beautiful or colourful leaves!

In dark places, it will lose some of its colour. She likes a moist soil. Give her a little water twice a week and she will be happy!

Alocasia Dragon Scale

This spicy lady is a very exclusive type! The leaves of the Alocasia Dragon Scale are reminiscent of the scales of a dragon. The pattern gives a fantastic 3D effect that keeps you staring. Despite her limited availability, Alocasia Dragon Scale is very popular among plant lovers. And we understand why! Besides the fantastic looks of this Rare plant, it can be placed in almost any spot in your house. Just don't put her in direct sunlight to protect her beautiful leaves.

Philodendron Scandens Micans

The Philodendron Scandens Micans is one to spontaneously fall in love with. She has beautiful heart-shaped leaves that are velvety to the touch. She is an excellent air purifier and she has another special characteristic; in every light she shows a different colour.
