Philodendron Melanochrysum is striking even among the stunning lineup that is the Philodendron family and is sometimes referred to as the Black Gold Philodendron because of the beautiful gold accents on her leaves. Her leaves, which start out like a fleshy pink before turning almost black with age, get bigger and bigger as she gets taller, so you can enjoy them even more! She is a climber so will be happiest when she has something like a mossy stick to climb up. This weird PLNT blends exotic and refined and will be the centerpiece of any display.
Even though it can be very tempting to start your plant collection with this beauty, we would recommend starting with a different plant if you are a beginner plant parent. Also, take note that every plant is unique and not all plants will have the same leaf length as the product images show.
Note: will arrive with atleast two good leaves and the leaves are at least 20cm
This velvety stunner loves to have her soil slightly moist at all times. You can achieve this by checking the soil’s moistness with your finger before watering her. She needs water whenever the soil is beginning to feel somewhat dry, when this occurs you can give her a splash of water. A humidity of 60% will be perfect for her and also helps with maintaining the moistness of her soil.
The Philodendron Melanochrysum will thrive inside bright indirect light. Other light conditions are acceptable for her, but is not her specific preference. You can always add a growing light when you are growing her in lower light conditions. Just keep her out of any direct sunlight, since that will burn her exceptional foliage.
She is a real climber and would love some support in the form of a growing pole. Not only will this make your plant happier, but also stimulates growth, which results in getting even bigger leaves!
