Yes you see it right.... Now also an XL Philodendron Melanochrysum! The Melanochrysum is also called the Black Gold Philodendron because of her gorgeous golden accents on the leaves. The leaves start out pink before turning almost black/dark green with age. When you give this plant something to grow against, her leaves get bigger and bigger and she grows higher and higher. This way, you can enjoy her extra! This beautiful plant is a mix of exotic and sophisticated and will be the centre of any room.
While it may be very tempting to start your plant collection with this beauty, it is not a plant for a beginning plant parent. Also keep in mind that each plant is unique and so not all plants have exactly the same leaf length as these product images show.
Note: the leaves are at least 20cm
Despite looking like a real star, the Philodendron Melanochrysum is not very demanding. Still, it is important not to deviate too much from the care tips. Then she might become less happy anyway. She doesn't need much water, but it is important to keep the soil constantly slightly moist and not let it dry out. So it's best to give her small sprouts of water regularly. Always check the potting soil with your finger first, though. If it still feels moist, it is better to skip watering her for a while. She can grow almost anywhere in the house, except in full sun and in a draughty spot. In spring and summer, the growing season, regularly give her some extra nutrition to help her grow really big leaves.
