A special and rare member of the Marantaceae family with beautiful silver leaves, then you are referring to the Maranta Silver band. It is not easy to get hold of, but once you have got hold of her, she is fairly easy to look after and can grow quickly! How great is that? She has a special leaf pattern: a silver coloured core that runs in thin stripes to the outer edge of the leaf. She is considered a 'prayer plant', because her leaves close at night, as if she is praying. Of course it grows like a creeper, but it also looks great in a hanging pot!
She can be a little bit picky; she loves to have moist soil and around 50-70%humidity. Whenever her leaves start to curl up, she is telling you that she is thirsty. She would love a spot with lots of light

July 27, 2023It came with some marks on the leaves, but nothing serious. It is a beautiful lush plant and it's flowering. Obviously, the plant was very happy in the nursery. I hope to continue that. But the biggest surprise is... mine came three times the size of the one in the picture, it's a beast! The only thing I would suggest is to put paper over the soil so it does not move during shipping.

Everything about Maranta
Maranta is a genus of flowering plants in the Marantaceae family. It's found in Central and South American tropical regions and the West Indies. There are around 40 different species of Maranta known today.
The common name Prayer Plant or Praying Plant refers to members of the Maranta genus, which includes several species of plants with strikingly patterned leaves that fold up at night, as if in prayer. The closely related Calathea genus also includes plants that are sometimes called Prayer Plants because they show similar leaf movements.
