The Anoectochilus Chapaensis originates from parts of China and Vietnam. This beautiful Jewel Orchid is also called the "Golden Jewel Orchid". And we immediately understand why! The velvet leaves each have unique golden veins that glisten in the sunlight and this contrasts beautifully with the chestnut-brown, almost black leaves. The veins on each leaf form an interesting pattern. The leaves also have a subtle heart shape. Normally Orchids get white flowers, but in the Chapaensis grow beautiful yellow flowers.
The baby Anoectochilus Chapaensis does not like a lot of light, so give her a shady spot. She has short roots and grows mainly horizontally, so she likes shallow pots, or even better the shallow soil of a terrarium or vivarium, and she’ll grow into an adult lady with your care. You will receive her in a care pot with moss, and if you’d like repot her be sure to choose orchid potting soil (which is different from regular soil) mixed 50/50 with moss, with hydro grains on the bottom, and avoid terracotta pots. This will ensure he roots get air and moisture without the stems rotting.
