Cool ideas for indoor greenhouses in 2025!
Are you a proud PLNTS collector planning to level up your plant setup in 2025? Then an indoor greenhouse might be exactly what you need! These stylish cabinets can be customised to perfectly match the needs of your green babies: keeping humidity, temperature, and light just right. Besides being incredibly functional, they also look stunning in your home!
The best part? You can even create your own greenhouse on a budget using affordable furniture like IKEA cabinets, which are a favourite among greenhouse builders worldwide. Ready to get inspired? Let’s dive into all the creative options for building your indoor greenhouse in 2025!
Indoor greenhouse cabinet
Transforming a regular display cabinet into an indoor greenhouse is easier than you think! It’s ideal if you have a wide variety of plants, love propagating cuttings, or own rare tropical species that need a little extra care.
Choose plants that thrive in high humidity, they’ll love their new environment! Just remember: avoid wooden cabinets, as moisture can damage the wood. A metal or glass cabinet is the perfect choice.

What exactly do you need for a greenhouse cabinet at home?
Grow lights are not always necessary, but they’re a great help if your greenhouse isn’t in a bright spot. If your cabinet is near a window with plenty of indirect light, you can skip them. Otherwise, grow lights will keep your plants happy. A little tip from us: use a timer! Connect your grow light to a timer so it switches on and off automatically, simple and efficient.
A digital hygrometer is super helpful to monitor humidity levels inside your greenhouse. Try to keep humidity between 70%–80%. You can also mist your plants every other day with a plant sprayer to keep things balanced.
A humidifier boosts humidity when needed. Our Aroma Diffuser works perfectly for this.
Fans are essential too! Air circulation is important in a closed space to prevent mould and keep your plants strong and healthy.

Of course, you can make your setup as advanced as you like. These are the basics, but many PLNTSparents love upgrading their cabinets. Some make them airtight with draught strips to maintain extra stable humidity, but remember to ensure proper air circulation. Stagnant air can lead to mould, which you definitely want to avoid.
For better ventilation, you can replace glass shelves with ones that have air holes to improve airflow. All in all, there are endless ways to create your dream greenhouse cabinet!
Small greenhouses for indoors
No space for a big greenhouse? No worries! There are plenty of smaller options that offer the same cozy, humid environment for your little plants. Here are a few great ideas.
Hagrid Grow Pot and Grow House
Our Hagrid grow collection is perfect for creating that mini-greenhouse feel, small but mighty. These containers come with a plastic lid that you can open or close depending on airflow. They’re ideal for germinating seeds, growing cuttings, or nurturing baby plants. For seed starting, you can also use our biodegradable grow pots.
Small glass greenhouse
You’ve probably seen them before: those adorable little glass houses with a black frame. They’re great for smaller plants or cuttings, and they double as stylish display pieces. Most have an opening roof, which allows for proper air movement. They’re practical and beautiful at the same time, a perfect balance.
Olly & Toby Terrariums
A timeless classic, the terrarium. Because they’re closed with a cork lid, the humidity stays nice and high, creating a tropical microclimate. In our shop, you’ll find plenty of terrariums like Olly and Toby to build your own mini indoor greenhouse.
You can also use a glass bell jar for a similar effect. Just place your humidity-loving plant underneath for a beautiful display. Don’t forget to lift the glass occasionally to let your plant breathe.
