The Calathea Orbifolia is an impressive lady. She overrules the other Calatheas when it comes to the width of leaves. These oversized green leaves are decorated with pretty silvery strokes. Just like many Calatheas the Orbifolia is also known as ‘The Living Plant’. This means that during the day she is a true show-off as she opens her leaves. When the night falls, she slowly closes them again for a good night of sleep.
The Calathea Orbifolia is a South American 'living plant'. Calatheas can be a bit picky and Orbifolia is no exception! Because of her roots from the humid Amazon region, it is wise that you always keep her soil moist, without water remaining in the bottom of the pot. She needs little light, but likes warmth and high humidity. A semi-shade spot near a north-facing window, for example, is perfect. She also likes it when you spray her leaves with water every now and then! Do not be alarmed when she closes her leaves at night, she will open them again for you in the morning light.

That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
