The Aglaonema Silver Bay is a serene beauty, with broad leaves splashed in silvery grey-green along the centre and framed in deep green. That silver sheen brightens up darker corners like little else, almost as if the plant carries its own light. It grows into a generous, full plant with real presence. And true to the Chinese evergreen name, it is famously tolerant: less light, a late watering, dry air, it takes it all in stride. One of the best choices for offices and shadier living rooms. Quiet elegance that simply works.
Your Aglaonema is wonderfully low-maintenance and even forgives a spot with less light, although its leaf markings stay most vivid in bright, indirect light. Water every other week and let the top of the soil dry out in between, as soggy roots are its only real enemy. Normal room humidity is fine, though an occasional misting keeps the foliage extra glossy. Plant it in a well-draining potting mix and repot every two years. Feed monthly in spring and summer with diluted plant food. Keep it away from cold draughts and temperatures below 15 degrees, as this tropical beauty likes it warm. One thing to remember: the leaves are toxic when nibbled, so keep curious pets at a distance.

The Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen) is part of the Araceae family and originates from tropical areas of Southeast Asia. There are more than 50 recognised varieties of Aglaonema with endless variation in leaf colour and shape. Most Aglaonema’s are green with white or greyish colours, but there are also variations with pink or purple colours. The leaves usually have a marbled or mottled pattern.
