Plump little leaves shaped like dolphins mid-leap, trailing over the edge of the pot: that's the whole charm of this succulent. It's a hanging plant at heart, so give it a high shelf, a hanging basket or the top of a bookcase and let the stems spill down. The silvery-green leaves stay chubby and cheerful all year, and the cascade only gets more playful as it grows. It brings a light, seaside mood to a bright corner of your living room or office. Hang one up and wait for the first visitor to ask what on earth it is.
Bright light is what keeps those dolphins plump, so choose a spot near a window with plenty of indirect light and a little gentle morning sun. Water thoroughly every other week, but only once the soil has dried out completely, because the fleshy leaves store water and soggy roots are the quickest way to lose this one. In winter you can stretch that to every three or four weeks. Normal room temperatures between 12 and 27 °C suit it well, and it doesn't ask for extra humidity. Plant it in a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix and repot about every two years, when the stems start to crowd the pot. Feed it a diluted cactus fertiliser once a month in spring and summer, and skip it in winter. Keep it out of reach of curious pets and children, as the plant is mildly toxic and the sap can irritate.

Everything about Senecio
Senecio is one of the biggest plant families that belong to the daisy (Asteraceae) family. There are over 1,000 different species of Senecio all over the world - some are annoying weeds, while others are beloved garden plants. Senecio succulents are also quite popular as houseplants and are perfect for growing indoors.
The name "Senecio" comes from the Latin word "senex," which means "old man." This is because many species of Senecio have a fluffy, white seed head like an older man's beard.
