Her large, deeply lobed leaves bring instant Mediterranean holiday vibes to a sunny spot, and with a little patience she rewards you with sweet brownish purple fruit. She loves warmth and sunshine and is happy on a bright conservatory spot, patio or sheltered balcony. A green friend you can snack from, what more could you want?
Your fig tree is a sun worshipper: give her the brightest, warmest spot you have, and she will even enjoy a summer outdoors. Water weekly and generously during the growing season, but make sure excess water can always drain away. In autumn she naturally drops her leaves for a winter rest, so place her somewhere cool and water only sparingly until spring. Feed her in spring and summer to support fruit development. Prune lightly in early spring to keep her in shape, and your patience will be rewarded with sweet figs.
