The Coleus Spacecake is a psychedelic dream, with swirling patterns of purple, pink and green that look like they came straight out of a lava lamp. No two leaves are ever alike, so the plant is basically a living kaleidoscope. It grows fast and joyfully, pushing out fresh trippy foliage all season long. Plenty of light keeps the colours at their most vivid. Pinch it back now and then for a full, rounded shape. For everyone who likes their houseplants a little out of this world.

Your Coleus shows its brightest colours in plenty of light, so give it a spot with lots of brightness and even a little gentle morning sun. Water weekly and keep the soil lightly moist, because this fast grower gets thirsty and will dramatically droop when dry (it perks right up after a drink). Normal room humidity is fine. Pinch out the growing tips regularly to keep your plant bushy and full instead of leggy. Feed monthly in spring and summer to fuel all that colourful new growth. Keep it warm, ideally above 15 degrees, and away from cold draughts. Do keep it out of reach of pets, as the leaves are not meant for nibbling.
