Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Squarrosa' is really a playful-looking little plant. She has beautiful quirky branches with soft and flexible, almost grey-green or blue, needles. Because of her not too large size, she is perfect for the window frame, for example. Give her small lights and you have the perfect holiday decoration. Without lights, she is also just a really nice addition for your living room.
This Chamacyparis pisifera Squarrosa is fortunately undemanding. She is suitable for indoors and outdoors. She is sensitive to root rot so you can easily forget to water her once in a while. Most importantly, do not water her until the first 3 cm of the potting soil is dry. It does not like very dry and warm air, so do not place it next to a heater or stove. If you decide to place it outside, it is good to know that she will be happiest with a semi-shaded spot. Completely in the shade will do it no good.
