The Aglaonema Jungle Red brings instant tropical warmth into your home, with dark green leaves flushed and veined in rich red. The contrast between the deep green and that glowing red gives every leaf the feel of a hand-painted artwork. New leaves keep adding to the show, each with a slightly different pattern. And like every Chinese evergreen, it pairs those bold looks with a famously easy character. It forgives a missed watering and settles happily into a spot with moderate light. A jungle vibe without the jungle effort.
Your Aglaonema is wonderfully low-maintenance and even forgives a spot with less light, although its leaf markings stay most vivid in bright, indirect light. Water every other week and let the top of the soil dry out in between, as soggy roots are its only real enemy. Normal room humidity is fine, though an occasional misting keeps the foliage extra glossy. Plant it in a well-draining potting mix and repot every two years. Feed monthly in spring and summer with diluted plant food. Keep it away from cold draughts and temperatures below 15 degrees, as this tropical beauty likes it warm. One thing to remember: the leaves are toxic when nibbled, so keep curious pets at a distance.

The Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen) is part of the Araceae family and originates from tropical areas of Southeast Asia. There are more than 50 recognised varieties of Aglaonema with endless variation in leaf colour and shape. Most Aglaonema’s are green with white or greyish colours, but there are also variations with pink or purple colours. The leaves usually have a marbled or mottled pattern.
