Picture a bright corner of your living room with two sturdy, woody stems rising from one pot, each topped with a fountain of long, glossy, sword-shaped leaves. At 80 cm tall, this yucca brings a touch of sunny Mexico into your space and asks for very little in return. Its thick trunk stores water, so this green friend won't hold a forgotten watering against you. Two stems give it a fuller, more sculptural outline, which looks lovely next to a sofa or a window. Give it light and a bit of room, and it will slowly grow into a proper indoor tree in your urban jungle.
Give it a bright spot, ideally with a few hours of direct sun, and the leaves will stay firm and deep green. Let the soil dry out a little before you water again, roughly every other week, because the thick trunk stores water and soggy roots are the one thing a yucca really dislikes. Normal room temperature suits it fine and dry heating air doesn't bother it, so there's no need to mist. Use free draining potting soil and repot about every two years, when roots start peeking out of the bottom of the pot. Feed it roughly once a month in spring and summer, and leave it in peace over winter. If the lower leaves turn brown and dry now and then, that's just natural ageing, so gently pull them off. Keep it out of reach of curious pets, as the leaves can upset their tummies.

Everything about Yucca
Yucca, also known as Yucca gigantea or elephantipes, is a loved houseplant from the Yucca family. It is the family's largest and most heat-tolerant species and can grow up to 9 meters tall in the wild! However, when grown indoors, it stays a more manageable size.
There are almost 50 species of Yucca trees and shrubs. Although Yuccas are sometimes called a cactus species, they are not cacti but perennial evergreen shrubs and trees in the plant family Asparagaceae. The natural range of the Yucca genus, the 49 species and 24 subspecies, covers a vast area of the American continent.
