The Senecio Rowleyanus, commonly known as String of Pearls, is an easy-care hanging plant. This cascading succulent really is the pearl of all PLNTS! She owns her nickname to the characteristic small green balls on the plant that are similar to pearls. The rowleyanus is a woman of many names, even referred to as ‘Pearl Plant’ and ‘String of Beads’. She is a beautiful and fun plant that will add a little quirkiness to any home!
Place your String of Pearls in a spot where it can receive plenty of strong natural light. In darker, cooler months, consider moving it to a brighter spot or closer to the window to ensure it gets all the light it needs. She is very sensitive to over-watering, so make sure you water her just right. Our recommended amount is once every fortnight. During the winter period, reduce the watering to once a month. Although String of Pearls is a beautiful plant to look at

28 May 2024Arrived in great condition and I got a beautifully full plant. Make sure if you hang this plant in a warm sunny spot though, that you don't forget to water it regularly. I made the mistake thinking that it didn't need a lot of water but it was hanging right next to a south facing window (no direct sunlight though) and during the day (in winter) it also received heat from the radiator. Hoping this time I get it right because I really love this plant!

Everything about Senecio
Senecio is one of the biggest plant families that belong to the daisy (Asteraceae) family. There are over 1,000 different species of Senecio all over the world - some are annoying weeds, while others are beloved garden plants. Senecio succulents are also quite popular as houseplants and are perfect for growing indoors.
The name "Senecio" comes from the Latin word "senex," which means "old man." This is because many species of Senecio have a fluffy, white seed head like an older man's beard.
