The Philodendron Tortum is part of the Araceae family and originates from Brazil. The Tortum is a rare plant with very special leaves, which strongly resemble the leaves of a palm! Watching the new leaves grow is also a sight to behold. The leaf starts out with a light pink color and eventually turns green as it grows bigger. Sounds beautiful, right?
The Tortum enjoys receiving a lot of indirect sunlight. During the growth season (spring and summer) it is important to keep its soil moist, during winter it can do with a little less water. To stimulate its growth and prevent dry edges on the leaves you should keep the humidity on the higher side

06 November 2023Baby Tortum is super cute. But also very fragile. While unpacking, the biggest leaf came off even with very careful handling. But it grew one leaf already so I am hopeful that it will turn out good.

06 August 2023Love this plant! It's so unique! However, it was struggling a bit, but I noticed the original soil it was in wasn't draining enough water so it was constantly wet. I removed the net it was in (they don't recommend this) but I think it felt way better after removing all the soil and cleaning the roots and putting better draining soil in it. It's not looking better, but I am keeping an eye on it. Still giving 5 stars since I am not sure if it was my mistake, not super experienced with plants yet!
