The Ficus Lyrata is also called the violin plant. This name has been given by the enormously firm long leaves that the plant develops. The Ficus Lyrata owes its roots to the tropical rainforests throughout West Africa.
The Ficus Lyrata doesn't need a lot of water, so don't water heavily but instead give small bits more often. The soil should be allowed to dry out a little between watering sessions. Turn Ficus Lyrata every few months to make sure it does not grow crooked. Sometimes the large leaves can become a bit dull, but this can be prevented by regularly dusting their top surfaces with a slightly damp cloth.
