Meet this rarity, the Alocasia Chantrieri. She has glossy, sculpted leaves with a burgundy underside and a deep green top side. She has distinctive nerves, which is a characteristic most Alocasia have and we absolutely adore! Her rubbery appearance gives a really fancy look, which is where she earns her fitting elegant nickname from ‘African Mask Plant’.

The Alocasia Chantrieri has a tropical origin, which requires a little bit of special care within our urban jungles. She likes a stable environment, since she is sensitive to change. Keep the temperature stable between 18 and 23 degrees. The humidity should be at least 60% to make her happy.
This elegant Alocasia doesn’t like to have wet roots, so you can dry the soil between waterings. Make sure to drain excess water to prevent root rot. You can add bark, peat moss and perlite to your soil for a good mix with all the qualities this Alocasia likes.
