Baby Alocasia Black Velvet, also known as the Jewel Alocasia, owes its name to its dark-toned velvety leaves which are detailed with stunning white veins that seem to glow with an inner light. Just like other Alocasias she needs a little bit of love to keep her shining, but with your love she will quickly grow into a beautiful living room plant.
The baby Alocasia Black Velvet prefers to avoid getting too wet, so while she appreciates a little water given often, take sure that the soil does not get too wet, as her roots may rot. When brown edges appear on her leaves, it’s time to repot her. This little baby likes a bright spot but not direct sunshine. And beware- if you water her too much she will produce small drops of moisture from her leaves which can stain wooden floors or tables.

This alocasia is the epitome of elegance in my plant collection! Its velvety, jet-black leaves have a mesmerizing sheen that adds a touch of drama to any space. Can’t wait for it to grow larger leaves :D

Amazing beautiful and strong plant. My baby came with two small and one quite big leaf and popped a big new one out in the midst of winter. I don't even have it under a grow light nor in a greenhouse or cabinet. She is incredibly strong and I adore here. When the indirect but quite bright light comes through the leaves, the bottom is even prettier. The nerves are bright green and the leaves are almost purple while the top is black with white leaves. She is such a gem. Pretty dynamic looking even with those sturdy leaves. I can't wait to give her the credits and paint her. She actually is my favourite Alocasia (I have e.g. Dragons and a Jacklyn in a little indoor greenhouse with grow lights) I can't with till spring and summer and watch her grow up. But baby purchase ever!!
