The Calathea medallion has a memorable appearance with her bold patterned leaves and beautiful deep purple underside. During the day she lets her leaves stand open, but when night falls she closes them up and reveals the deep purple colour on their underside. If you are very quiet you can even hear the gentle rustling as she transforms! The Calathea medallion likes to take up plenty of space, but she doesn’t need a lot of light. As a domestic plant it does well in the darker areas of your living room, the hall or even the bathroom.
The Calathea ‘Medallion’ likes a light spot and prefers not to stand in the sun. The plant is extra air-purifying. Try to keep the potting soil constantly moist, that will make this plant happy! Just make sure that there is no layer of water at the bottom of the pot, as this will make the roots a little less happy.

Got it as a gift for my boyfriend and he doesn't stop talking about how beautiful it is :^). He was worried since calathea are notoriously easy to kill but this one is in such good condition and so still doing great :^))

Overall big and leafy plant. Unfortunately, some leafs were slightly damaged and some leafs had brown spots. PLNTS did offer a partial refund though.
Your order will be hand picked and packed in our strong and sustainable packaging as soon as possible, after which it will be delivered straight from our greenhouse to your door by your chosen carrier. We expect every order to arrive in tip-top shape. We take intensive care of the plants in our greenhouse and use special and as sustainable as possible protective packaging to ship our plants. We also wrote an extensive blog about how to unpack and prepare your plants for growth after shipping. However there are rare occasions where our plants don’t meet their full potential. That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
