(Grape Vine) Boskoop Glory

The Vitis Boskoop Glory is a vigorous, hardy grapevine with large, lobed green leaves that turn golden in autumn and bunches of sweet, dark blue grapes. Trained along a wall, fence or pergola it reaches about 400 cm in height and roughly 150-250 cm in width. Plant one every 2-3 metres along a support, or 1 per large container with a sturdy trellis. The small, discreet flowers in early summer are followed by fruit in early autumn, and the dense foliage gives lovely shade over a terrace. Seasonal changes may affect whether the plant arrives with leaves or fruits.

Plant the Vitis in a sunny, sheltered spot, ideally against a south or west facing wall, and give it a sturdy support to climb. It prefers well-draining, moderately rich soil and dislikes standing water. Water regularly in dry spells, especially in the first year and in containers, which dry out much faster. Prune in late winter on a frost-free day, cutting last year's side shoots back to 2 buds, and shorten long shoots in summer to let sunlight reach the grapes. This variety is hardy in our climate, though the roots of a plant in a pot are best protected in hard frost.

That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
