The Sansevieria Laurentii is an absolute icon, with tall, sword-shaped leaves in marbled green, finished with striking golden-yellow edges. It is famous for being nearly indestructible, thriving on neglect where other plants would sulk. On top of that, it is one of the best air-purifying plants you can own, even working the night shift. Your Sansevieria is famously hard to kill, which makes it the perfect green friend for busy plant parents. It handles anything from bright direct sun to a shadier corner, though it grows fastest with plenty of light. Water only once a month and let the soil dry out completely, as the thick leaves store plenty of moisture themselves. Dry air, central heating, a forgotten week: none of it fazes this one. Plant it in a well-draining, sandy mix and repot every three years at most. Feed occasionally in spring and summer. The one golden rule: when in doubt, don't water. Keep it away from nibbling pets, as the leaves are mildly toxic.
