(Climbing Rose) Klimroos Rood

The Rosa Klimroos Rood is a vigorous climbing rose with rich red, slightly fragrant flowers set against glossy green leaves. It reaches about 300 cm in height and 100-150 cm in width at maturity once it has a trellis, wall or pergola to climb. Plant 1 per metre of support for a full, flowering screen. Bees and other pollinators love the open flowers, which appear from early summer into autumn. Perfect for fences, walls, arches and pergolas in the garden or on a large patio. Seasonal changes may affect whether the plant arrives with flowers.

Plant the climbing rose in a sunny, sheltered position for the best flowering. It prefers rich, well-draining soil and does not like waterlogged roots. Water generously during dry spells, especially in the first year and when grown in a large pot. Tie the main shoots loosely to a support and prune back the side shoots in late winter or early spring. The plant is fully hardy and survives the winter outdoors; in a pot, put it in a sheltered spot during severe frost.
