Deeply lobed, almost finger-like leaves splashed with cream and green: that's the look this little one is already working on. Florida Beauty brings the marbled variegation and Tortum brings the dramatic, slender leaf shape, so no two leaves ever come out quite the same. Right now it's a compact green friend in a 6 cm pot, around 15 cm tall, which makes it easy to tuck onto a shelf or a bright windowsill. Give it time and a moss pole to climb and it will grow into a proper statement piece in your urban jungle. Variegated hybrids like this are the ones you get to watch grow up, one surprising leaf at a time.

Bright, indirect light is where this one shines, because the cream patches fade in a dim corner and scorch in harsh midday sun. Water when the top 3 to 4 cm of soil feels dry, which is roughly every other week, and let any excess drain away so the roots never sit wet. It likes a warm room between 18 and 28 degrees and appreciates a bit of humidity, so an occasional mist or a spot near other plants helps. Use a chunky, airy aroid mix and repot once a year as the roots fill the small 6 cm pot. Feed with a diluted plant food every few weeks in spring and summer, and pause in winter. Keep it away from draughty windowsills and radiators, and remember that, like all philodendrons, it's toxic to cats and dogs if nibbled.
