This cutie has a pretty tasty name ‘Choco Empress’, which is more than fitting for this gorgeous plant. Her leaves start out with a bronze or brownish colour and as they mature slowly fade to a deep green. This colour transformation is pleasant to witness and makes this little stunner a really interesting plant. You can start off with giving this cutie a good base. Since she belongs to the aroids, you can give her an aroid potting mix. We would suggest using the ratio off: 60% Potting soil, 15% Tree bark, 10% Coco fibre, 10%Active Charcoal and 5% Perlite. This will make your Choco Empress more than happy.
You can water her whenever the soil is starting to feel dry. We would also suggest using a (nursery) pot with drainage holes, so excess water can be drained from the pot. This will reduce the chance of getting root rot.
Place her inside bright indirect light. Too much light might result in scorched leaves and too low light might cause stunted growth. That is why it is very important to place her in the right amount of light.

Despite the rough handling by the finnish curier, the plant arrived undamaged. It had good roots and after repotting started to grow vigorously.
