(Virginia Creeper) Quin. Engelmanii

The Parthenocissus Quin. Engelmanii is a vigorous, self-clinging climber with glossy green leaves that turn a spectacular fiery red in autumn. It reaches about 750 cm in height and 300-400 cm in width at maturity, and it climbs walls, fences and pergolas without any need for ties. Plant 1 per 2 metres of wall or fence for a fully green facade within a few seasons. The small summer flowers are loved by bees, and the blue-black berries in autumn feed the birds. A great pick for covering a garden wall, shed or fence, or for a leafy privacy screen.

Plant the Parthenocissus in sun, partial shade or shade, it adapts to almost any position. It grows in any ordinary garden soil as long as water can drain away freely. Water regularly during the first year and in extended dry spells, especially when grown in a pot or against a sunny wall. Prune in late winter or after the summer growth spurt to keep the plant away from gutters, roof tiles and windows. It is fully winterhardy and needs no winter protection, and it simply drops its leaves in autumn.

That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
