This baby is called Bloodleaf or Beefsteak plant and is known for her stunning ornamental foliage. She provides a spectacular show of foliage colour throughout the season. Her leaf colour varies from a dark purple to beet red with magenta veins. Native to South America, this plant is relatively uncommon, but it will certainly not look out of place in your home!
This colouful baby requires moist though well-drained soil and full sun for best color. Pinching back is recommended to maintain shape and removing buds concentrates the plant's energy in producing the colourful foliage. Water regularly, but do not let her sit in water. Give her warm temperatures and bright light, so that she stays so beautiful!
