The Dypsis lutescens, also known as the Areca palm or golden palm, is a vibrant tropical plant with graceful, feathery fronds that bring a lively, fresh feel to any room. Native to Madagascar, it is admired worldwide for its elegant, bushy appearance and its ability to thrive indoors, making it a popular choice for brightening living spaces with a touch of green.
The Dypsis lutescens prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some shade. Keep the soil slightly moist, allowing the top layer to dry out between waterings, she doesn’t like sitting in water. Avoid cold drafts and harsh sunlight. Trim any yellow or brown leaves to keep her looking tidy, and feed once a month in spring and summer for healthy growth.
