Digitalis purpurea 'Gloxiniiflora' is a striking biennial plant featuring tall spikes of tubular, purple-pink flowers. Its upright and elegant form makes it ideal for garden borders, cottage-style gardens, or pollinator-friendly plantings. The dense, well-branched stems provide structure even when flowers are not present, and seasonal variations may affect whether blooms are visible at delivery. Bees and hummingbirds are naturally attracted to the blooms, adding life and movement to any garden.
Plant in partial sun to light shade with fertile, well-draining soil. Keep soil consistently moist, particularly during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging, which can cause root rot. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding if desired. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring to support strong, upright stems and vibrant floral displays. Protect young plants from harsh winds and late frosts to ensure healthy growth.
