Digitalis purpurea 'Gloxiniiflora' is a striking biennial with tall spikes of tubular purple-pink flowers. It grows 1–1.5 m high. Plant 2–3 per square meter in borders, cottage gardens, or pollinator-friendly plantings. Its upright, well-branched stems provide structure even when flowers are absent, and the blooms naturally attract bees, adding life and movement to the garden. Seasonal variations may affect flower presence at delivery.
Please note: All parts of Digitalis are toxic if ingested. It is advisable to plant with care in gardens where children and pets have access.
Plant in partial sun to light shade with fertile, well-draining soil. Keep soil consistently moist, particularly during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging, which can cause root rot. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding if desired. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring to support strong, upright stems and vibrant floral displays. Protect young plants from harsh winds and late frosts to ensure healthy growth.
