Codiaeum Variegatum Aucubaefolia is a little firework of colour: fresh green leaves generously splashed with golden yellow spots, as if someone flicked a paintbrush at her. As a baby plant she already shows off the famous croton colour palette. The brighter her spot, the bolder her speckles become. A joyful green friend that paints your windowsill with sunshine.
Your croton is a light addict: the brighter her spot, the more spectacular her colours, and she even enjoys some morning or evening sun. Water weekly so the soil stays lightly moist, and a little less in winter. She loves humidity, so mist her regularly, especially when the heating is on. Keep her warm and protect her from cold draughts, because chills make her drop leaves in protest. Feed in spring and summer, repot every two years, and keep her colourful leaves away from curious pets.

Croton plants, aka Codiaeum plants, are among the world's most vibrant and colourful houseplants. They come in various cultivars, each displaying unique and stylish colour patterns. The Codiaeum genus is a member of the overarching family Euphorbiacea. Most species in the Codiaeum family are shrubs with leathery leaves. Only some species are cultivated as houseplants.
