Are you noticing that your leaves are losing their vibrant green color and developing silvery-white spots? If so, you might be dealing with a thrips problem. While these creatures are visible to the naked eye, using a magnifying glass can make spotting them much easier. They are characterized by their long, slender bodies and can vary in color from black to yellow. For more information about thrips, you can visit our PLNTSdoctor page.
Thrips puncture plant cells with their snouts, causing damage as they extract sap from the leaves. This feeding behaviour leads to yellowing and eventual death of the affected leaves. Fortunately, we have a solution to prevent your plants from succumbing to this damage.
You can combat thrips with the help of a predatory creature called Carna. These creatures have heavy appetites and don’t mind taking a bite out of aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites either. Each Carna can consume multiple thrips eggs, larvae, or thrips per day, making them an efficient solution. One package is sufficient for treating approximately 10 houseplants.
The creatures are delivered in packages containing buckwheat hulls, which can be divided and distributed across the provided foldable trays. It's crucial to evenly spread them over the infested area for optimal effectiveness. Carna thrive in temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius and may not survive temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.
