The baby Alocasia Polly, also known as the African mask plant, is a Alocasia which is distinguished by its beautiful skeletal white vein patterns on its leaves. While Polly is a hybrid houseplant created relatively recently with mixed origin stories, the genus Alocasia is native to tropical rainforest climates in India, Southeast Asia, Southern China, and the Southern Pacific islands. Alocasias grow giant, umbrella-like leaves which are said to resemble the ear of an elephant. As forest plants they prefer a shady environment, so your little Polly will be thrilled if you can find her a nice spot on a shelf or in a corner where she can comfortably set about the serious business of growing!
The Alocasia Polly don’t like dryness at the roots, but too much water will cause the roots to rot. Unlike conventional house plant watering wisdom the best approach is to water little but often. Tip: Use a pot with a drainage hole so any excess water can easily escape.

My polly arrived a bit crooked and dry, with three small leaves, and a forth leaf unfurling, that came out a bit "crispy"
