Do you love PLNTS with dark foliage? This might be a winner for you! The Alocasia Maharani is known for her thick, leather like leaves. They have lots of texture, which gives her a luxurious look. This special foliage is where she got her nickname ‘Grey Dragon’ from, pretty accurate if you ask us! This baby is small right now, but also will stay rather small. The Grey Dragon originates from a tropical climate and grows best inside this. That’s why you will need to adapt your urban jungle slightly to make her feel right at home. You can start with a humidity boost. The Maharani loves to grow inside a humidity of 80%. This is quite high, so it is easiest to maintain inside a greenhouse.
You can give her a well draining soil mix. This will reduce the chance of root rot and boost the chance of a healthy and happy plant. You can use our aroid potting mix kit to create your own potting mix. You can keep her soil slightly moist, by giving her frequent tiny sips.
Provide her with bright, indirect light. This will make sure she can produce enough energy to keep on producing her rich foliage for you!

Beautiful, healthy plant. A few marks on baby leaves, but as expected and propably from transport. Quickly continuing growth and up’ing leaf size :)
