(Star Jasmine) Pink Shower

The Trachelospermum Pink Shower is an elegant evergreen climber with glossy dark green leaves and clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers that open soft pink and fade to white. It grows to about 500 cm in height and 150-200 cm in width at maturity when trained against a wall, fence or pergola. Plant 1-2 per metre of fence or trellis for a dense, green screen. The scented flowers appear from early summer and are popular with bees. It is perfect for privacy screens, sunny walls, patios and large containers. Seasonal changes may affect whether the plant arrives with flowers.

Plant the Trachelospermum in a sunny to partly shaded, sheltered spot, ideally against a warm wall. It prefers humus-rich, well-draining soil and does not like standing wet. Water regularly during dry spells, especially in the first year and when grown in pots, as containers dry out much faster. Prune lightly after flowering to keep the shape in check and guide the shoots along a trellis or wires. This plant is not fully winter hardy: bring potted plants inside or wrap the plant and mulch the roots before the first frost.
