If you are looking for a little gem that will be a centrepiece in your urban jungle, you have found the perfect match! The Philodendron has heart shaped leaves with a dark green base and popping light green veins. The underside of the leaves have a hint of burgundy and her stems have little ‘hairs’. The Verrucosum isn’t too fussy about her requirements for the amount of light she wants to receive. You can place her in bright indirect light, but a little brighter or darker will be fine for her!
You can place her inside a chunky soil mix that has lots of organic substrates. You can use our aroid potting mix kit to create your own. We recommend the following ratios; 60% soil, 15% tree bark, 10% coco fibre, 10% active charcoal and 5% Perlite.
Keep her soil slightly moist at all times. If it dries out, she will also let you know by drooping her leaves. You can say she can be a bit dramatic, but will plump up if you water her as soon as you see these signs. Otherwise you risk losing a leaf or two.
