This Philodendron is a hybrid between two Philodendrons that we are already in love with! This is the Philodendron Splendid and she is the offspring of the Verrucosum and the Melanochrysum. The Splendid has many similarities of both plants. The leaves are shaped like those of the Verrucosum, but the way the plant grows and how big the leaves can become is similar to the Melanochrysum, how cool is that!
This love baby needs a lot of indirect light; in good light conditions her leaves can grow huge! Always keep her soil a little moist by regularly giving her small amounts of water. Keep an eye out for water at the bottom of the pot, because she does not like wet feet. The Splendid originates from a tropical area and is therefore used to a humid environment. With a humidity of 80% or even 90%, she is perfectly content. This also makes her a perfect candidate for a greenhouse!
