People fall hard for the baby Philodendron Scandens, and it’s easy to see why. She has beautiful heart-shaped leaves that all have a lovely deep green colour. The Philodendron Scandens is a very easy plant that, with the right care, will quickly grow into an impressive hanging or climbing plant. Philodendron Scandens originates from the jungles of South America, where she climbs sky high along trees.
The baby Philodendron Scandens likes light but not bright sunshine, and prefers to stay warm- ideally between 16 and 24 degrees. She likes moist soil but be careful not to water her too much. If she’s getting yellow leaves, that’s a sure sign that she’s getting too much water. Her leaves and stems are poisonous to pets, so she’s best kept well away from them. Pretty plant, seems healthy so far. The one I received seemed to be very recently propagated, it barely had any roots and only three older leaves, and so far there hasn’t been any new growth. Otherwise very happy with it, and from experience this type of philodendron will grow very quickly once past that first stage!
