We would like to introduce to you, the Philodendron Gigas. Gigas, standing for that this specimen can reach quite the size! In the wild the individual leaves can reach a length up to 1.2 metres long, if that’s not impressive, we don’t know what is! The Gigas has soft looking velvet foliage, that has this essence of luxury. So if you were on the hunt for a fancy plant that also looks adorable, you have found a match! The Philodendron originates from the tropical rainforest, and would like to grow in similar conditions when adopted by you. You can start with picking the right spot. Anywhere with lots of bright indirect light will do the trick.
Once your baby is ready to be repotted, choose a well draining soil mix that is suitable for aroids. Keep the soil slightly moist, by providing regular small sips of water. It is important that excess water can drain from the pot, otherwise you face the risk of root rot.
