The Philodendron is a tropical houseplant, preferring to receive lots of bright indirect light, without it being too bright. Too much light will cause scorching, that would be a big petty of those big leaves.
You can heighten the overall temperature, making sure it never drops below 18 degrees. It also prefers high humidity, of 70% or higher. This makes the Esmeraldense also the perfect candidate for a greenhouse.
Once your baby Philodendron is ready to be repotted, choose a chunky soil mix that drains well and is able to retain moisture. Keep this slightly moist, by providing a small sip of water when the top layer starts to feel dry.
