Biokovo takes full sun as happily as light shade, so use it wherever you need cover. It is not fussy about soil as long as water drains away, and it copes well with the dry ground under trees. Water in the first season and during long dry spells, then it largely looks after itself. Shear off the spent flower stems after blooming to keep the carpet tidy and encourage fresh leaves. It is fully hardy and can stay outside all winter.

The Geranium x cantabrigiense Biokovo is a hard-working ground cover with soft white flowers blushed pink at the heart, held above neat, aromatic foliage. It stays low at about 20-25 cm in height and spreads 45-60 cm wide. Plant 5-7 per square meter and it will knit into a dense carpet that leaves weeds no room. The main flush comes in May and June and draws plenty of bees, and the leaves stay on through mild winters before colouring red in autumn. It is one of the few plants that genuinely thrives in the dry shade under shrubs.
