The Caladium is a tropical plant originating from Central and Southern America, particularly Brazil and the Amazon, that grows in the jungle. Caladiums are beautiful plants that grow from bulbs. Their heart-shaped, often brightly colored and beautifully veined leaves make the Caladium a real eyecatcher! The Caladium Casey is a real cutie! The middle part of her leaves are a blush pink with cute white dots.
The baby Caladium has some specific care requirements. First of all the temperature is of great importance. The Caladium doesn’t like temperatures below 21 degrees Celsius, meaning that their room should be at least 21 degrees or higher during the day. At night they can handle slightly lower temperatures, but no lower than 18 degrees. Furthermore the Caladium doesn’t like a dry soil, however overwatering the plant can cause their bulb to start rotting. Ideally you can give it a little bit of water twice a week, preferably once the top layer of their soil has just dried out. When the leaves and stems start to droop it means the Caladium isn’t receiving enough water. Once you water the plant again you’ll see that it regains its strength to put up its stems again. Asides from water in the soil, the air humidity is also of importance. You can increase the air humidity by misting the plant as well as the area around it. Asides from the water the amount of light is also important, as the Caladium enjoys a spot with plenty indirect sunlight. Do not put it in direct sunlight as this will cause the leaves to burn, leaving brown spots on it. Naturally you’d want to prevent this from happening! On the other hand, if the leaves are reverting to green it means that the plant isn’t receiving enough light. Move your Caladium to a brighter spot and watch as the color returns to the leaves. Lastly, don’t be surprised if the plant loses some leaves during summer, this is completely normal for the Caladium! It is best to let the leaf die off completely before removing it. After that the plant can put all its energy into growing beautiful new leaves.

This little plant is absolutely gorgeous, the colour of the leaves is like nothing I've ever seen. It is, however, a very sensitive plant, quickly drooping when it needs water and also quickly rotting is overwatered. Do not recommend for beginners.
