The Alocasia Regal Shields is part of the Arum family and originates from Asia. It is also known as the Elephant Ear Regal Shields, and upon looking at it’s beautiful large, dark green leaves it is easy to understand why it earned itself the nickname of Shield. Don’t forget to take a look at the bottom of its leaves as well, these are a gorgeous shade of deep purple! Will this be your new Alocasia? Buy Alocasia Regal Shield online.
The Alocasia Regal Shields grows best on a light spot, preferably near a south or west facing window. Just make sure that the sunrays don’t hit the leaves of this plant as this could burn the leaves! It’s also important to turn the Regal Shield every now and then to prevent the plant from only growing towards the light. The best way to water this plant is by slowly dripping the water into the pot so it can properly flow from the stem towards the roots. The soil should stay lightly moist at all times, but make sure not to overwater the plant as Alocasias don’t like wet feet! In this case it’s better to let the soil dry out a bit before watering the plant again. If the tip of the leaf starts to drip water then you’ll know that you’ve overwatered the plant, this means it is time to adjust its watering schedule a bit.
