(Japanese Maple) Moonrise (op stam)

The Acer Moonrise on a stem is an elegant ornamental tree with fan-shaped leaves that open golden yellow in spring, turn soft green in summer and glow red in autumn. Grafted on a clear stem it forms a compact, rounded crown and reaches about 300 cm in height and roughly 200 cm in width at maturity. Plant it as a solitary specimen, allowing 1 plant per 3-4 square metres. It grows slowly, which makes it ideal for a patio, a front garden or a large container. Seasonal changes may affect how the foliage looks on arrival.

Plant the Acer Moonrise in sun to partial shade, sheltered from hot afternoon sun and strong wind. It likes humus-rich, well-draining soil that stays evenly moist without ever becoming waterlogged. Water regularly during dry spells, and much more often when grown in a container, as pots dry out quickly. Prune sparingly, ideally in late summer or after leaf fall, only to keep the crown in shape. The tree is fully hardy, but in a pot you should wrap the root ball with fleece or bubble wrap during hard frost.
