But the one that is most known is the Zamioculcas Zamiifolia. This is the variety that is also known as the ZZ plant. She has long branches with narrow pointed leaves covering them. These leaves look very glossy and feel thick. The colour of the leaves come in more of a bright lime green, but once the leaves get more mature they will turn into an emerald green. Another variety is the ‘Raven ZZ plant’. She looks almost identical to the regular ZZ plant, but her leaves are much darker in colour, almost black. This is also where her name ‘Raven’ comes from.

Zamioculcas care

The Zamioculcas is an easy plant when it comes to care. She likes to be potten in a chunky soil mix that drains well. She thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but also does fine in lower indirect light. As long as you avoid bright direct light, she will be fine. Give your ZZ-plant once every 2-3 weeks some water, depending on how much light she reveices. Only water her unless the soil is almost completely dry, as she is sensitive to root rot!
