The Philodendron Tortum is part of the Araceae family and originates from Brazil. The Tortum is a rare plant with very special leaves, which strongly resemble the leaves of a palm! Watching the new leaves grow is also a sight to behold. The leaf starts out with a light pink color and eventually turns green as it grows bigger. Sounds beautiful, right?
The Tortum enjoys receiving a lot of indirect sunlight. During the growth season (spring and summer) it is important to keep its soil moist, during winter it can do with a little less water. To stimulate its growth and prevent dry edges on the leaves you should keep the humidity on the higher side

06 augustus 2023Love this plant! It's so unique! However, it was struggling a bit, but I noticed the original soil it was in wasn't draining enough water so it was constantly wet. I removed the net it was in (they don't recommend this) but I think it felt way better after removing all the soil and cleaning the roots and putting better draining soil in it. It's not looking better, but I am keeping an eye on it. Still giving 5 stars since I am not sure if it was my mistake, not super experienced with plants yet!

28 oktober 2022This baby arrived with broken leaves and is taking longer to recover than the other babies I've ordered. It hasn't pushed out a new leaf yet and is really sensitive to the amount of water given, which I don't know weither it's normal or is due to its health? I'm hoping that it will look nice and healthy again, but so far it's alive and it looks like a new leaf is on its way.

14 oktober 2021I really don't like these kinds of root plugs since they actually don't break down. Resulting in many broken roots. But I'm pleased anyway!

21 februari 2021I got two of these babies in January after a month long shipping together with a few more plants, most of them handled the insanely long trip quite well, but these two came in dried out and with most of the leaves fallen of at least damaged, both died soon after. I contacted the support and they offered to send me two more. They came in in perfect condition, even a bit bigger than the first ones, with no sign of damage. Very happy with the plants and with super helpful and nice staff :)
