De Begonia Masoniana is een sterke kamerplant en komt oorspronkelijk uit Zuid-China en Noord-Vietnam. Deze plant wordt ook wel het 'ijzeren kruis' genoemd. Als je goed naar het bijzondere patroon op haar bladen kijkt, snap je meteen waarom; het donkere kruis is roodbruin en contrasteert mooi met de felgroene bladeren. Maar dat is niet het enige bijzondere aan deze plant; ook de stekeltjes structuur op het blad is heel uniek. Gelukkig is de Begonia Masoniana geen stekelig typje, ze is juist heel vriendelijk in de omgang. Met een beetje liefde en verzorging en heb je jarenlang plezier aan haar.

De Begonia Masoniana vindt een halfschaduwplekje het fijnst. Ze houdt van vochtige aarde dus check regelmatig of ze niet uitdroogt en geef haar een klein scheutje water. Maar overdrijf het niet, want zoals de meeste planten houdt niet van natte voeten. Verschijnen er kleine bloemetjes? Dan kun je die er het beste snel uithalen, dan kan ze al haar energie stoppen in haar fantastische bladeren.

Begonias are one of my fav plants because they are such weirdoes! I love this plant, it has huge leaves! Few of them arrived damaged, unfortunately, but it's part of the online plant shopping.

Super leuke plant! jammer genoeg zijn er 2 bladeren een klein beetje beschadigd maar ondanks dat heel goed en zorgvuldig verpakt!

Don't be fooled by the average looking of that plant when you see on pictures and videos. Seeing it in live made me realize that it is one of the most beautiful begonias. I received a big plant in a great shape and one of the leaves enormous.
