The Dypsis Lutescens is a feather palm with beautiful bright green and pinnate leaves. This plant originally comes from the African island Madagascar and is also called the Butterfly Palm or Areca Palm.
Delivered in a 4'' nursery pot.
The Dypsis Lutescens is a tropical plant. A spot in half shade ensures that she is not stressed and can grow nicely. Make sure the soil doesn't get too dry and give it a little water twice a week. In the winter you can reduce the water frequency a bit, because growth will slow in these months. During the spring and summer months you can easily encourage your Areca Lutescens to grow very fast by adding some organic PLNTS nutrition to the water once a week.
Your order will be hand picked and packed in our strong and sustainable packaging as soon as possible, after which it will be delivered straight from our greenhouse to your door by your chosen carrier. You can follow the journey of your plants via the tracking link you receive in your mail. If you have any questions regarding your order and its shipment, you can get in contact with our support team.
We expect every order to arrive in tip-top shape. We take intensive care of the plants in our greenhouse and use special and as sustainable as possible protective packaging to ship our plants. We also wrote an extensive blog about how to unpack and prepare your plants for growth after shipping. However there are rare occasions where our plants don’t meet their full potential. That’s why all plants are guaranteed for 30 days after arrival, if still in its original nursery pot.
Everything about Areca
The Areca Palm is one of the most popular indoor palm trees thanks to its easy-going nature and stunning size and shape. Who could resist the idea of chilling at home under their very own palm tree? You'll love its gracefully curved leaves anywhere you put it. They have several nicknames, such as Golden Cane Palm, Dypsis Lutescens, Yellow Palm and Butterfly Palm. The Latin name is: Chrysalidocarpus Lutecens.
There are 51 species of palms in the Areca genus. The Areca palm belongs to the Araceae family, also known as Palmae. Originating from the humid and tropical forests of Malaysia, India, islands of the Philippines and across Southeast Asia, Areca palms are not only beautiful and jungle-like, but they are also great air purifiers.
