Ficus Elastica Tineke is the painterly one among the rubber plants. Every thick glossy leaf looks hand-marbled in green, cream and soft grey, finished with a blush of pink on the newest growth. She grows upright and full, bringing light and colour to any bright spot in your home. A variegated stunner that stays remarkably easygoing for all those good looks.
Your rubber plant likes a bright spot without harsh midday sun, where her glossy leaves colour up best. Water about once every two weeks and let the top few centimetres of soil dry out first; her thick leaves store plenty of reserves. She is fine with normal room humidity, though an occasional wipe with a damp cloth keeps those big leaves shiny and breathing. Repot every two years into fresh, airy potting soil and give her some plant food in spring and summer. Watch out for cold draughts and remember her milky sap can irritate, so keep curious pets and little hands away.
